A wide variety of health issues can affect an individual’s ability to move comfortably. These include but are not limited to: many forms of arthritis, including fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS); chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, post-polio syndrome, post-rehabilitation from surgery or injury, neuropathy, heart disease, diabetes, post-stroke and frail elderly (often involving a combination of health issues).
The AquaBility course trains instructors to create safe, comfortable, effective aquatic exercise sessions for populations requiring adaptations to regular programming. This course offers exercise guidelines to facilitate improvements in fitness parameters. Cueing strategies and class designs are included. AquaBility training emphasizes observational skills and decision-making strategies to help leaders individualize their instruction.
