Facts About Leadership Training & Certification:

Fact:
There is no legislation or government regulatory body overseeing the quality of programming or the requirement to train or certify instructional staff for aqua fitness programs.

Fact:  
Many facilities have lifeguards, other employees, or volunteers leading aqua fitness programs with no specific training to do so.

Fact:  
The reason this is happening is often cost.  It is simply too expensive to maintain accreditation with profit-driven certifying organizations.  The cost of courses, required continuing education workshops and annual membership fees is daunting.

Fact:
You wouldn't have un-trained people guarding your pools or teaching swimming. It is equally risky and inappropriate to have unskilled aqua fitness leaders.
